Theater movies, documentaries, and extended videos.
- Parasite (2019)9.2/10.
- Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)9.0/10. An absolutely stunning movie.
- Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023)8.4/10. The subplots haven't yet been resolved so this is the highest rating I can give... which is already very high.
- Blade Runner 2049 (2017)8.4/10. This movie and its predecessor have a knack for atmosphere. This is almost a perfect sequel to the original movie.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers (2002)8.4/10.
- Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)8.2/10.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001)8.0/10.
- The Dark Knight (2008)8.0/10. Very good depiction of Batman, the Joker, and Harvey Dent. The acting is incredible and the character writing and story writing are the selling points of the movie. It is a bit jumpy and hard to follow, unfortunately. I'm also aware there's a lot of political commentary surrounding this movie but... to me it's just a superhero movie.
- Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (1980)7.8/10. Probably my favorite Star Wars movie. The plot is engaging, the characters are three-dimensional, and all have great dialogue.
- X2 (X-Men United) (2003)7.7/10. This is a genuinely great movie and a great continuation from the first movie. The budget is much higher, the characters are more interesting, the plot has more interesting turns, the fight scenes more action-packed, and Magneto is even sassier than before. They also did a surprisingly good job covering their bases for plot holes.
- The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)7.7/10. A hilarious meta-comedy movie. Nicholas cage and Pedro Pascal both knock it out of the park with this one.
- Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2002)7.7/10. The acting is significantly better and the plot is more believable. And the memes start to pop up more.
- Star Trek: Insurrection (1998)7.7/10. Of all the TNG movies, I think this one is the best. It has the most interesting plot, the funniest jokes, the best of every senior staff member of the Enterprise, and, of course, the ethical dilemmas. That being said, they really did Worf dirty with the puberty thing.
- John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)7.7/10.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)7.7/10.
- Conclave (2024)7.6/10. It's a strangely captivating and enjoyable drama. The cinematography is also excellent. The only downside is that every time I hear "eminence" I think of Kai Winn from DS9.
- Galaxy Quest (1999)7.6/10. This is the funniest parody of a Star Trek/Star Wars/Stargate franchise. The acting is incredible, the bits are hilarious and spot on, and the plot is overall pretty enjoyable. I love this movie.
- Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves (2023)7.6/10. A great movie even if you have no DND knowledge. If you do have DND knowledge, you'll understand a lot of small name references and implicit natural 20 or natural 1 rolls.
- The Truman Show (1998)7.6/10. A great meta movie on life and paranoia. Ahead of its time.
- Men in Black 3 (2012)7.5/10.
- The Batman (2022)7.5/10.
- Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)7.4/10. This one lives up to the other two movies. It's funny, has a ton of meta references, and I loved Chris Evan's character. If Marvel keeps making Deadpool movies I'll seriously keep watching them.
- Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)7.4/10.
- John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)7.4/10.
- Hot Fuzz (2007)7.3/10. A pretty fun police comedy with cheesy lines and a sweet story.
